As President and founding Principal of ABSI, Naji Hassan brings over with 35 years of experience in Building Sciences to ABSI’s clients. Building on extensive practical experience in the building science industry, as well as a diploma in Civil Engineering, a Certificate in Building Sciences from the University of Toronto, Naji leads ABSI’s team of professionals. Combining his experience leading Building Sciences projects for ABSI with previous experience delivering projects on the Owner’s side, Naji’s knowledge of project delivery and commitment to client service enables him to provide exceptional project leadership for ABSI’s public and private sector clients. Naji has continued his professional training with certificates in Total Quality Management, Operations Management, and Human Resources, as well as regularly attending the NBEC conferences on Building Science and Technology. Naji brings his extensive knowledge and skills to each project as Principal-in-Charge, peer reviewer, on-site reviewer, and AODA compliance administrator for ABSI.
Bob Marashi is Managing Partner, Principal-in-Charge and Chief Engineer at ABSI. With a degree in Civil Engineering from Ryerson University and a certificate in Building Sciences from the University of Toronto, Bob combines his formal training and practical knowledge of roof and building envelope engineering to successfully lead ABSI’s team of specialists in the design and implementation of new projects, complex building rehabilitations, and on-going repairs and maintenance programs. Bob is a registered Professional Engineer, a member of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants, and a certified Thermographer, allowing him to provide ABSI’s clients with comprehensive planning and project delivery. Bob is a hands-on engineer who leads investigations, reporting, design, and management of ABSI’s many major building envelope projects for various municipalities in Ontario, as well as for industrial and commercial facilities, housing authorities and multi-unit residential buildings.
Zack Salman is an Associate and Senior Project Manager with more than 20 years of practical involvement in building condition assessment and building sciences projects. Having graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s degree of Science in HVAC Engineering, Zack holds both formal knowledge and an unparalleled set of skills in engineering, planning, and managing projects and teams in various sectors, including institutional, commercial, multi-unit residential, and municipal. Zack holds certifications in energy auditing and roofing systems, and continues to build his expertise through on-going technical training for building science and technology, building envelope solutions, and roofing. Zack leads ABSI’s BCA division and provides his invaluable expertise to roofing and building envelope design and implementation mandates from concept to commissioning. His hands-on leadership for BCA projects ensures ABSI delivers responsive client service, and provides condition assessments, reserve fund studies and performance audits and reporting that meet and exceed client expectations.
