Tam Heather Curling Clubhouse

The Tam Heather Curling Club, located on Military Trail in Scarborough, is a one-storey facility originally built in 1973. Owned by the City of Toronto, the club offers instructional, recreational, and competitive programs for residents in the surrounding community and GTA. The building is approximately 29,000 sf.

ABSI worked with City to undertake investigations, design and implementation of renovations to the building envelope to address ongoing concerns, including -

  • Removal and replacement of all concrete block units that were showing surface scaling and cracking
  • Creating a structural connection between the concrete block wall to the steel columns
  • Incorporation of control joins in the block wall around the overhead doors
  • Installation of new cladding, insulation and waterproofing membrane
