Leaside Community Centre

The Leaside Curling club is a one-storey building constructed in 1963 and renovated several times between 2000-2011. The building exterior was finished with solid masonry and concrete block walls, with modified bitumen roof systems. The site included an adjacent arena and pool which are open year-round and required careful phasing and staging to maintain on-going operations and avoid disruptions to activities taking place in the winter season.

ABSI worked with the City to undertake investigations, design, and implementation of renovations to the building envelope to address the adjacent arena ongoing concerns, including

  • Repair and waterproofing of the foundation
  • Improvements to the roof / site drainage
  • Roof Repairs to both the Curling Club and the Old Wing of the adjacent arena
