The building is eight (8) storey apartment building located at 6101 Bathurst Street south of Steeles in the City of Toronto, built circa 1983/1984. ABSI carried out Building Envelope Assessment including all walls, windows, and associated details to determine the root cause of various damages observed and establish a strategy to rectify existing deficiencies and provisional budgets.

Based on the results of the Building Envelope Assessment, ABSI provided the owner and the property management with design specifications and drawings, tendering service, project management and administration.

Accent Building Sciences Inc. was retained by the Board of Directors at Toronto Standard Condominium Corporation #2830 to carry out a First Year Performance Audit of the common elements of the Corporation. The purpose of the audit was to review the as‐constructed common elements with a view on identifying deficiencies (in construction or workmanship), that have warranty coverage under the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act (as administered by the Tarion Warranty Corporation).

ABSI was retained by DEL Management Solutions Inc. to perform a detailed building envelope assessments including exterior wall cladding, balcony slabs and guardrails and provide a strategy, and design for exterior wall restoration at 100 and 110 Unity Road, Toronto, ON.

ABSI provided:

  4. Field Reviews and Quality Assurance
  5. Acceptance, Project Close out and Warranty Registration

The project was phased over two years. Balcony slab repairs, balcony railing replacement and exterior masonry wall repairs were carried out.

Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) retained the services of Accent Building Sciences Inc. (ABSI) to perform a Roof Rehabilitation and Replacement at Humber Boulevard, located at 121 Humber Boulevard, Toronto, Ontario.

The Humber Boulevard development consists of a mixed group of buildings. The development has a high-rise building, complete with underground parking, and a group of town house blocks.

Our scope of services included destructive and non-destructive inspections and testing on the existing roofing assemblies, including cut tests to determine the composition of the existing roof assemblies and their conditions. A final report was provided that detailed our findings, provided recommendations for repairs and on- going maintenance, and provisional budgets for all recommendations and future planning.

ABSI provided full design, contract documents and contract administration for an entire roof replacement including the metal capping/finishes along with a new walkway, railings and ladders.

The City of Peterborough, ON is a mid-sized City in Kawartha Region. The single- tier municipality has a population of 85,000+ over 5 geographical wards.

ABSI has been providing the City of Peterborough with consulting for building sciences for more than 15 years, delivering Roof Design, Roof Condition Assessments, Investigations, and Project Administration for a variety of City-Owned facilities, including the replacement of the complete roof at Kinsmen Arena.

From 2017-2018, ABSI led the phased roof replacement. Replacement of five rooftop units also formed part of the project as well as adding a new solar power roof system.

The Leaside Curling club is a one-storey building constructed in 1963 and renovated several times between 2000-2011. The building exterior was finished with solid masonry and concrete block walls, with modified bitumen roof systems. The site included an adjacent arena and pool which are open year-round and required careful phasing and staging to maintain on-going operations and avoid disruptions to activities taking place in the winter season.
