The City of Peterborough, ON is a mid-sized City in Kawartha Region. The single-tier municipality has a population of 85,000+ over 5 geographical wards. Municipally owned facilities include an airport, emergency services facilities, office facilities, community and recreation centres, arenas, libraries, municipal works and storage facilities, parks pavilions, and event spaces.
ABSI has been providing the City of Peterborough with consulting for building sciences for more than 15 years, delivering Roof Design, Roof Condition Assessments, Investigations, and Project Administration for a variety of City-Owned facilities, including the replacement of the complete roof at Memorial Arena. Opened in 1956, Peterborough Memorial Centre is a 66-year-old indoor arena, with a maximum capacity of 4,329 spectators.
From 2016-2018, ABSI led the phased roof replacement, which was undertaken in 3 phases and occurred over 3 seasons. Replacement of five rooftop units also formed part of the project.
