Walmer Flats
Walmer Flats is mid-rise, 7-storey rental apartment building located in the Annex neighbourhood of Toronto. Originally constructed in the 1960’s, the building has undergone significant changes, and by 2015, was in need of extensive exterior rehabilitation to improve performance, safety, and aesthetics.
ABSI was engaged by the property manager to undertake the investigation, design, construction administration, renovation and rehabilitation of the exterior walls and underground garage, including repairs to concrete and masonry, balconies and waterproofing.
ABSI and team carried out an investigation as well as design and construction to evaluate the existing condition of the underground garage structure including the concrete roof slab, identify delaminated and deteriorated concrete areas, and evaluate condition of the existing waterproofing membrane at the top surface of the garage roof slab.
